Today you get two reviews for the price of one! Eleanor and I just discovered the Meeow books at the library last week, and we're in love. We checked out Meeow and the Blue Table and Meeow and the Little Chairs.
Both books start by introducing the clever Meeow and his friends: Moo, Baa, Woof, and Quack. Then in each book the five friends play an imaginative game together, using household items. The illustrations are bright and bold, and text is really cute.
In Meeow and the Blue Table the friends use craft supplies to make hats, crowns, swords, and a dragon; then they turn the table into a castle with the addition of a red blanket, and act out a fairy tale.
In Meeow and the Little Chairs they put all their chairs in a row, get a flag, whistle, and bell; and make their own train, that goes whistling, dinging, and choo-chooing down the imaginary track.
These books are absolutely adorable, and Eleanor and I will definitely be looking for more of them at the library soon. She's so into them that she waves at the book and says "Hi Meeow!" at the beginning introduction every time.
Other titles in the series include Meeow and the Pots and Pans and Meeow and the Big Box, which look like they'll be similar stories about imaginative play. I can't wait to read them! Also if you know me in real life and you're pregnant... I bet you can guess what one of your baby shower gifts is going to be.
Have you read the Meeow books?
