Love Life by Rob Lowe: An Audiobook Review and GIVEAWAY

It's Wednesday! Time for the final double-giveaway Wednesday of the summer around here. (Last week's giveaway of Lauren Willig's That Summer is still open through tonight!)

I'm wrapping things up with Rob Lowe's Love Life on audiobook. I listened to his first book, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, a few months ago, and loved it so very much.

Love Life is similarly clever and well-narrated (I mean, hello, who wouldn't want to have Rob Lowe's voice in their ear for hours at a time?), but I think it lacks a bit of the cohesion of Stories. I guess I'd sum the difference up by saying that Stories is a good old-fashioned autobiography, while Love Life is a collection of anecdotal essays.

But even though it's not quite as good as the first, it's still rather hilarious. There are lots of funny anecdotes, often involving other famous people, and some touching family stories. Lowe's a predictably superb narrator (and his Arnold Schwarzenegger impression is surprisingly accurate).

So if you're looking for something light and entertaining to listen to this summer, look no further than Love Life!

My rating: 4 out of 5
Should I recommend this to my grandma? Uhh. Maybe not. Depends on how G-rated she likes her humor...

I received a copy of Love Life from Simon & Schuster for review, but all opinions are my own. They offered to give one of you a copy too, because they're nice. This post contains a few of my affiliate links, thanks for supporting Quirky Bookworm.
