Judging Book Covers: Pride and Prejudice

Remember when I wrote that April Fools' post about how Pride and Prejudice is overrated? Ironically I now get a fair amount of blog traffic from people googling "pride and prejudice is overrated". It's sad how often it happens!

Anyway, one of those search results made me want to watch it again, so I'm currently watching the Colin Firth-Jennifer Ehle version, and cringing at the Netherfield Ball scene.

I tried hunting to see if I could find a version of the book with Colin Firth on the cover, but Amazon doesn't seem to have one. I found a wide variety of other covers though. I don't own any of these particular ones, but I do own a paperback version produced by the "Quality Paperback Book Club" whose cover is quite similar to the one on the left.

I think my favorite of these four is probably the Penguin Classic one on the far right.

Which cover of Pride and Prejudice do you prefer?
