2013 Book Challenges That I'm Already Failing - and, so, a New Challenge!

Remember how I signed up for several 2013 Challenges? Well, I'm already failing two.

I realized that actually Book Journey's Where Are You Reading? Challenge isn't a very good one for me. Most of what I read is set outside the US, so there's no way I'll be able to read a book from each state. But I LOVE the map concept, so I'm going to keep mine up all year. You can see where my 2013 reads have taken place here.

As for the Audio Book Challenge - I will absolutely listen to at least 25. But I already missed a link-up, oops. As a result, I guess I'm unofficially participating again.

Then I read this post from Shelf Love, and as a result my friend Meghan and I created the BFF Book Challenge. Otherwise known as the "I Know Your Taste, Let Me Pick Nine or Ten Books and You Have To Read Five of Them" Challenge. But BFFBC is a lot shorter.

Here's Meghan's list for me:

Dragon's Blood, Pawn of Prophecy, Possession, The Lady in the Tower, A Morbid Taste for Bones, The Boleyn Inheritance, Lady's Maid, Wolf Hall, Call the Midwife

My list for her (including several titles I've previously reviewed):

Daughter of Fortune*, The Scorpio Races, The Sparrow, All the King's Men*, A Share in Death, Persepolis, Dawn's Early Light, The Daughter of Time*, The Given Day*, The Secret Keeper*

Meghan said she thinks she might be able to swing all ten, since she doesn't have review commitments. I'm committing to at least five... and as many as I can get to. Let the BFFBC begin!

Do you usually like your friends' recommendations?
How are your 2013 goals going?

*All excellent audio book productions.
