Bereft at the Loss of a Fictional Character

I finished 11/22/63.* It made me bawl like a baby about 3 different times. And, as I mentioned on Facebook, I feel suddenly bereft at the absence of the characters in my life. The audiobook was like 36 hours long, and I really invested a lot in those people. I miss having them in my ears.

I'm also missing Duncan and Gemma. I was so excited to get to review The Sound of Broken Glass, and thus read it before publication, but that means I'll have to go more than a YEAR till the next book is available. Sniffle. It's almost enough to make one turn to fanfiction.

I'm assuming that I'm not alone in this, and that you can sympathize, n'est-ce pas?

I mean, it's even more sad when a beloved book character dies in the book - I definitely cry every time Beth or Dumbledore die. But for me it's almost as sad when I come to the end of a book or series that I love, and realize that there won't be any more.

Which fictional characters are YOU missing?

*And I HEARTILY recommend it, with a caveat that there are a fair number of f-bombs. But it was so, so, so good. I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads. And I almost want to read it all over again.
