Young Adult & Middle Grade Fiction

A selection of books I own. Recognize them all?
Armchair BEA is almost over, sniff. Today we're talking about middle grade and young adult fiction.

It should be blatantly obvious that I love YA and kidlit, right? Two years ago I did a whole series on 31 Days of Awesome Kids' Books, which were largely middle grade fiction.

And my virtual book club this year is The Young Adult Book and Movie Club. (Pssst, Sunday starts a new month.. and we'll be starting Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Join us!)

I think C.S. Lewis summed it up best:

“A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest.”

I love sweet and entertaining kids' books... because they're sweet and entertaining books.

I love reading adventuresome and thoughtful YA novels... because they're adventuresome and thoughtful novels.

Plus, I want my girls to grow up reading amazing books. So I'm happy to help them discover all of the great kid and YA books out there. And I'm happy to buy books for them too. Ahem, and to buy more of them after Juliet chews them up.

Why do YOU love kid books/ YA books?
