Blood, Bones, and Butter. I heard really great things about this. But I'm not completely in love with it. It reminds me a lot of Kitchen Confidential right now; which isn't a bad thing since I love Anthony Bourdain... just a little boring. Which is weird to say about a book with so much kitchen and personal drama. I'm thinking it's maybe just a case of over-hype though, so I'm taking a little break, and then I'll give it another shot.
I've been waiting for 2 months for Cinder to come in at the library for me, but alas, I finally had to admit it wouldn't get here in time to read for the Summer Reading Club link-up this Sunday. So I read the first five chapters on my phone, since they were free. Now I'm listening to it thanks to Audible - I signed up and got a free download. It was awfully easy to get the book on my phone; and I'm thinking I may have to keep the membership going for a few months so I can listen to some other hard-to-get books! But back to Cinder : it's a little predictable, but a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying it.
Detroit Breakdown. I'm reading this to review for Shelf Awareness - it comes out next month. It's a mystery set in 1912 Detroit, and it's quite fun. I like the debate going on about whether or not internal combustion engines or electric cars are better. Too bad that the electric cars lost the battle for another century or so! You'll see my full review on this one later, once it's published.
Eleanor is potty training. I have read Potty Time with Elmo approximately 3000 times in the last few weeks. I'm really tired of it. And of Elmo's dumb laugh. Seriously, it's incredibly irritating anyway; but especially so in tinny electronic book form. But hey, at least the potty training is going pretty well! She's also suddenly into Dr. Seuss and Curious George - it's fun to get to read longer books to her now.
